Introduction

The exhibition The Gate to the World of Creative Human Imagination is a set of interactive art items created by Czech and international artists. The individual objects are presented as instruments making use of the mechanism of kinetic motion, light and shadow, music and sound tones, while maintaining their original character and form of interaction with the visitors. The exhibition thus becomes a space for play by means of which the instruments come to life and are given another unique dimension. During the installation and presentation of the whole set, it is not the authorship of the individual artworks that is emphasized; on the contrary, the individual works follow each other both in function and installation. The objects are always installed in a new way depending entirely on the exhibition space, thus creating a new, unique and surprising whole.

"The Gate" represents the most successful, the oldest as well as the largest exhibition of the project. Its premiere took place in 2006 in Paris and its list of events and plans for the near future already comprises many countries and cities all over the world.

The exhibition has terminated its very successful tour in Belgium, where it was presented as a pilot project of the European Year of Creativity and Innovation 2009 announced by European Commission for Education and Culture. The exhibition also took part in a world music festival Couleur Cafe from 26. 6. to 28. 6. 2009 and was visited by 78 000 visitors. On the beginning of August 2009 the TV station CNN broadcasted the reportage about the exhibition on its world channel.

In September 2009 the exhibition will be presented in Sophia in Bulgaria. You will find more information in Calendar.
