Commercial Terms
Concrete collaboration terms are specified individually with the participating institutions. On principle, our exhibitions are loaned for a certain time period (the period of 2 months being recommended) under the conditions of covering the direct costs and fees. Any revenue obtained from entrance fees is considered as the intake of the organizer/ promoter of the exhibition.
However, an agreement can be made with the organizer to take advantage of
so-called "key-ready" exhibitions; in such a case, the production team Orbis pictus aneb... secures the complete production of the exhibitions on the given venue or venues including promotion and staffing for a pre-arranged price.
Another model of cooperation, popular abroad, is the one of the organizer covering part of the direct costs and fees while selected costs are covered directly (e.g. the exhibitions transport, accommodation, traveling costs, staff; except for the necessary stay of our technical specialists and art consultants; insurance, curators, promotion etc.).
Technical and Production conditions
Exhibition space:
• The optimal size of the space is 300 - 500m2
• The required height of the ceilings of the exhibition space with respect to the height of the exhibited items is 4m minimum
• The required size of the access doors is 2m (height) and 1,8 m (width)
• In case of placing the exhibition or its single items on upper floors, sufficient space for manipulation must be secured (width of the staircase, doors, lifts)
• Outdoor placement of single items by prior agreement
• The total weight of the exhibition is 7 500 kg (including crates)
Storage Rooms and Technical Facilities:
• The required storage area for crates and exhibit packaging is 100 m2 minimum (in case of the standard ceiling height of 3m). In case of a storage space with ceilings higher than 3m, the storage space can be reduced. If this is the case, it is necessary to secure a lift-truck for the crate discharge.
• Allocation of supply mains (120V-220V)
• Technical workshop of 15 m2 minimum (equipment: basic tools, workbench, vise, electric energy supply)
• Sufficient burden capacity of the floor
• Securing access for installation and dismantling (entry cards, codes, security access etc.)
Access and Parking:
• Providing information on the location of the exhibition space - on what floor it is to be found (manipulation with art objects of great weight and size)
• Securing of access routes and parking space for the unloading and loading of the trucks for the minimum of 7 hours
Installation of the Exhibition:
• 1-2 days of unloading and unpacking of items
• 4 days of installation in the exhibition space (secured by 4 technicians in cooperation with the art direction of the exhibition)
Dismantling of the Exhibition:
• 1-3 days - dismantling the items and packing the lighter objects (secured by 4 technicians)
• 1 day of packing the items and placing them in crates
• 1 day of loading the items
Staff:
• Providing auxiliary technical manpower (in case of an accident - water, gas, electricity)
• Securing daily cleaning
• Providing 3-4 curators (training by Petr Nikl)
• Providing a cashier for the sale of tickets, catalogues, books, CDs, DVDs and other promotion material
• Securing the cloakroom and staff in the winter period
Other Requirements Regarding the Exhibition:
• In case of organizing accompanying events, the necessary staff (technical equipment, cloakroom, cleaning) and the necessary equipment (chairs, sound and lighting equipment, cloakroom, rehearsal room, social background)
